Does anybody here have some older reference books, say maybe from the 60's, 80's, late 90's, etc? I am curious to see what the value of notes in general has done over the past 60 years. And I'm talking all notes, Large Size, Small Size, Confederate & Obsoletes. I would like to see if the value has gone up and if so by how much..
I assume as time goes on this country is becoming more populated. The larger the population of the united states the more chances for there to be currency collectors in growing numbers. And obviously the more collectors we have, the higher the demand and lower the supply causing prices to go up. This should continue to increase as time goes on I would assume and some notes will start to decline in population due to not only more notes stashed in collections but decline permanently due to irresponsible collectors (notes being ruined and destroyed by improper care), accidents, fires, etc. I know Large-Size Currency has increased in value substantially since the early 21st century and I hope they continue to do so, but I'm really waiting for the small size notes to increase. We can all just hope for the best. Good thing is ultimately I collect because of the historical value and I enjoy looking at the old notes for what they are, not as an investment. But a nice appreciation in value would be nice.
